Since about 1999, the character limit for gTLDs (com/net/org) has been 67 characters excluding the extension.

Just look at how many responses this thread has gotten... imagine if an end use sees that funny long name in a text or banner ad

As for whether the site can be sticky or convert well... that's another story entirely.
