I have a Competitor’s domain name. What should I do?

I have registered a competitor’s domain name.

I know that some of you here are really clever and will know what to do with this.

Basically, my competition is using domain.com (his operating market is UK – a polish website for people in UK) and I have registered his name using domain.co.uk (extension used in UK) and domain.pl (extension used in Poland). I have a feeling that I could do something with this. More than just set up a redirect.

Have you got any clever or sneaky ideas :>

Best idea is to keep quiet about it, because if you use it you could lose it.

Potentially the "competitor" could start a "bad faith" domain dispute at ICANN and there is a pretty good chance you would lose and the competitor be handed the hostname.

IMO, the BEST idea is to focus on making YOUR company better and not resort to sneakiness to try to make money or hurt a "competitor".

There are many ways to make money in this world. At the end of the day, you have to live with how you earn your $$$.

If you have trademark with the same name as your domain name like you competitor - you will lose nothing. But your comptitor own trade mark in UK and Poland - I'm sure that domain name will be lost.

I agree, you need to be worried about Trademark and Copyright issues.

Or.... you need to leave competitors alone and stop being a scumbag and start focusing on beating them by being better than them.

I have a clever idea, but it's not very sneaky.

Transfer the domains to your competitor, and ask them to pay you for the registration fees.
