I'm considering starting a website with 2 hyphens in the name... Do you think Google will consider that spammy? Or is it ok? It is kinda keyword heavy... But all the nicer versions have gone!

Google doesn't care what domain you use. It's all relative.

Two hyphens are likely fine. If you use a dozen it's probably spam. There's nothing wrong with the hyphen itself, but too many does become spammy.

There is another consideration with hyphens though and that's real people. Most people won't remember to use the hyphen when they type your URL into the address bar. instead of word-word-word.com they'll type wordwordword.com. You should consider that and see if there's another domain out there.

But you can definitely use hyphens. Just keep them to a minimum. 2 is fine.

I hear you. I was forced to use a hyphen for one of my latest projects, after about two hours of looking (and not finding) a good non hyphen domain. It's getting harder and harder if you want .com or .net

Yeah... Although my best sites have actually turned out to be those with one hyphen... I'm just not sure if 2 is pushing it a bit... Not so brandable anyway, unless I make a real thing of the hyphens!

That is doesn't matter what domain you use. Google review web site and ban domains due to web site content or other things connected to that, but not because you are using this or that domain name.

Wish dashes your domain name will not look attractive for users first of all. It always looks as traffic convector for me (several words separated by dashes)
