I have a website called simplicitylayouts.com

I thought that with a freedomain.co.nr account whatever domain name I signed up for would be given to me or whatever and that I could then use my website hosting to host it.

But as I was signing up it said this:

"It seems some of our new clients do not understand very well what service they signup for, and what to put in Target URL text-box. So, here is the explanation:

CO.NR offers free, short and easy-to-remember domain name web addresses for existing web sites that are already published on the web (with some web host)

If you do not have a web site yet, there is no point to signup, as our service will not work without the web address of your existing and working web site.

So, the Target URL is the web address of your existing, working and accessible through the internet web site, that you can shorten using free CO.NR service."

So if I sign up will I be able to have simplicitylayouts.com as well as the domain name Im signing up for?

Or will it replace simplicitylayouts.com with (name).co.nr

Cause I do NOT want that.

Thanks.

Joseph.

(Im new here!)

Well as you have found out ... You can't

the freedomain.co.nr is a redirection service. You have to have your hostname.whatever already hosted .
The idea is that if your existing hostname is-a-stupidly-long-one-with-lots-of-hyphens.com you use a shorter .co.nr hostname to tell people and it will redirect to your original site.

It would just mask your site and you can keep the .com

What king of profit you are looking for in having another domain name with tyhe same content?
The last one will be filtered by SE and you won't get any SEO profit from it.

Concentrate with your .com domain. Free domains sucks.

yeah, why not go with .com? It's more attractive than that.
