Hello, my name is Eric Keller. I would say that I am a novice when it comes to site management. I have owned and worked with a basic website before through penguin hosting. In order to upload items to this site, I could either access the files through my cpanel or upload to the ftp web address through a web publishing program (coffee cup) on my computer.
I have had a blog with blogger for about a year. After the termination of my website with penguin host, I decided to spend the $10 per year to get my blog its own domain name through google (ericjkeller.com). I was under the impression that I could then treat this domain and my blog much like my previous website. I am guessing that I must be confused. What do I need to do to turn my blog into multi-page site, which I could then upload to using my web creation program? I've seen a few sites like this around the web. I really just want an index page containing my blog with a table for other pages. Theses other 4 or 5 pages would be pretty basic stuff. I know that you can export your blog with blogger. Is that how it is done?
What is the cheapest/reliable, yet still marginally simple method to achieve my vision? Please help in whatever way you can as soon as you are able.
Thank you for your time,
E. J. Keller

Use WordPress. Easy, free and with a lot of feedback. Look for a plugin to export your blogger content to WP.

First of all, thank for the reply.

You're saying to use this Wordpress rather than my coffee cup editor and using blogger, right? What about the entire domain thing with google? Are you saying that my suspision about the $10 google domain was correct?

In that case, what web host should I use?

Sincerely,
E. J. Keller

well, Wordpress is the most extended content management system for blogging purposes. I don't know what you use CofeeCup editor for, but wordpress integrates a WYSIWYG post editor, but for creating pages within WP is OK. The domain thing is no big deal. You only have to change the domain's nameserver adresses.

Hosting? Look here: http://free-webhosts.com/

Domain name you can get with domain name registrar and I suppose that you will be fine with your $10 budget for that.
