Hey

I have a new domain name which has fully propogated to my web host.

When i type the domain in the web browser address bar (Firefox) i am taken to my domain registras holding page. However, when i do this on another computer, my domain goes straight to my website :S

This happens in:

Firefox (New and Old Versions)
Opera
Safari
Chrome
Internet Explorer

I have deleted temporary files in appdata/local and i have used software such as CCleaner to delete the cache, cookies etc.

I dont understand why when using my pc my domain takes me to my domain registrars holding page when it clearly is working on another machine and through a proxy.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Cheers
Carl

The operative phrase being through a proxy

Sounds like DNS hasn't fully propagated, and your hostname doesn't as yet exist in your ISPs DNS server

Oh.. does that mean (as i use BT for my broadband), it needs to be in BTs DNS server?

I accessed my domain through a proxy just to see if it would work.

I can access my domain from work, my friends and my dads though

Hah! BT and DNS Say no more!
(don't get me started on BTs DNS "service") or BT in general for that matter.

Yep it needs to be in the DNS server that your external connection looks at first, sometimes you have to drop your connection for a few minutes, then reconnect to force an update to:
a) your router cache

b) whichever DNS server has been taken out of service to be removed from your connection

That also can happen once you have your domain name expired
Just FYI
