I use godaddy as my domain name registrar. I use this service because:


1. I register dotcoms for one year at a time, waiving the private registration option.

2. I pay 10 bucks and some change, hidden fees included.

I realize there may be lesser expensive registrars, but I am currently using godaddy becuase I know it'll be ten bucks for one year-- and that's it.

Are there any cheaper solutions out there? I'm talking about TOTAL COST...

Name.com and Directi are providing Private WHOIS for free. If you would like to retain the privary of your domain contacts then you should prefer these two registrars. Otherwise, GoDaddy offers the promo codes for new registrations on certain intervals.

Absolutely name.com is best for domain registration they will provide u dns management , private whois all for free try them mate.

Most domain name registrars offer that for free. But I sympatize with godaddy because of their discounted prices.

Some people consider domain name registrar not because of the price but of the kind of the provided services. I assume you need to do the same. That is the best way if you would like to exclude all nightmares you might have

NAMECHEAP.com is the best . . .Free SSL-WHOIS . .

you can register it cheaply at yahoo.com or mydomain.com

The cheaper is not better. Just remember you get what you pay for

Namecheap is best registrar. You get free whois,ssl n in addition their superb customer care.

Cheap domain name registration is good for the first year only. Next year I assume you will need to pay much more

Do they have any kind of the reputation system there? Or what do you mean?

There are some advantages and disadvantages with going cheap. Just be careful that you read all the fine print. The cheap solution has been known to shut down suddenly. For example yahoo geocitites. But at least they gave their users warnings.

With Godaddy you can easily find some discount coupons online (gdbb776) for renewals of .com domains. You should only be paying around $7.50 plus ICANN fees.

Yeap that is truth. It seems they have new coupon codes every day and each their customer have own coupons

Stick with GoDaddy and use their coupon codes to knock down that 10 bucks a pop cost.

Try code MTECH10 which will give you 30% off .com domains, including when you renew. Doesn't expire till July 2010.
