The domain name should be whatever you want it to be. If it can describe your site as well then that's even better.

Why should a domain name hurt you? But yes the domain may hurt you if its an existing domain and you have bought out the domain from some one and that too when the domain has been misused.

So, check out your stuffs before buying the domain.

Domain name has nothing to do with ranking. Search engines don't favor any specific domains. Ranking is based on quality and relevancy of links, fyi.

I agree. You are allowed to locate on your web site everything you would like to. That shouldn't be against the law where your web hosting server is located.
