123-reg are ok until you decide to move from them (same with 1and1). I used to use plugsocket.co.uk
Now we are Nominet approved ourselves , which is very handy

Thanks. Yeah I used to be with 1and1 too and they tried to force me into renewing a domain that I didn't even want, without my permission. It lead to a lot of angry emails getting sent from me and they eventually got scared away lol... idiots!
If your needs are basic (ie no bulk modification tools or privacy needed, etc), I would simply go for the one with the best price...

I have used Dynadot for the past 2 years (and 60+ domain names later..!) and they are pretty good and they seem to resolve the name servers very quickly too.
Sometimes cheap price do not give you the best (or just good) service even for the domain name registration.

Why would you want to to pay £80 to register a .co.uk at Nominet??

I couldn't find out how much domains were there and thought it was a little strange that someone would buy from them...?
If you are interested in number of domain names which they have registered- contact them and ask about that. I suppose that wouldn't be a sort of hidden information there

I must have missed the point of that answer entirely.
