my website http://rlhangloo.com doesn't work frequently (it was working an hour ago but its down now. the weird part is, it works when i try to open using http://pagewash.com)

it just doesn't work when i try to open using firefox/opera/safari.. and surprisingly, its IP address works : http://174.121.23.125/~rlhanglo/

my host says its because they shifted to a new server and its due to my ISP!

i have clear the cache in my mac and also my PC yet my website come and go! any idea as to why is this happening?

And they are correct.

It takes upto 96 hours for DNS to propogate fully

its been more than a week.

it works and then it goes off again. its happening too often but the ip address works all the time!!

do you still think its yet to propagate fully?

Sounds like it, and it could be your ISP is rotating their DNS servers and they are not all up to date.

it should have propagated within a week. If your host is still saying that it is due to your ISP ask them what your ISP should do to fix it.

i can't update my site. its down again. its so frustrating. never had such an issue before!

i'm staying in a college hostel and the internet is provided for free. i can't be talking to the guys in charge (ISP) regarding this issue.

i guess i'll just have to wait and watch for weeks to come.

It seems you are having problems:
- try to check if your web site is loaded from different locations.
- make sure you have changed nameservers properly
- make sure your ISP is not blocked on your web hosting provider and vice versa

its opening now. i didn't open for few minutes yesterday again although the IP address was working!!

really dont know wat to do. i have done all those three steps. it has problems on and off.

is anyone having issue with the above domain?

What your hosting provider is telling you does not sound completely correct. That would remain true if your sites DNS is propagating, but more then a week, that sounds like your hosting provider servers are having issues, and the fact that they are telling you its your ISP is mot likely not accurate. My advice to you would be to change your hosting provider. That should correct the issues almost instantly (As soon as your DNS propagates)

yeah but changing the host at this juncture is just too expensive for me. whatever happens, my patience is running out. the next thing i do could be just that and flood messages in forums and everywhere else not to use that host.

If web hosting company changing is the only way - go ahead and change that and do not waste your time anymore on them

Yes, I just had this issue with a site hosted on Powweb. It was very intermittent, and the site was only online during the day (US Pacific time). After about a week the downtime stopped. Just hang in there...

Sounds like you have DNS issues. Something with your name servers aren't configured correctly. I would contact your host for advice.

If your using a Windows Machine run the following commands at a command prompt

ipconfig /flushdns
nbtstat -RR
nbtstat -R
arp -d

Then Google DNSBench and run it. Change your machines DNS for the top two DNS Servers. Then run nslookup from your machine and type in the URL see if returns the correct IP Address.
