Hello and thank you for your help in advance

I have a few domain names and I am trying to help my site grow.

I have my main site and I bought some domains, yet I am curious if it helps for seo if I point my domains to a specific page on my site? Or make a separate site all together?

For an example

I have my website allspecialtybuildings.com

I bought barnbuilderscolorado.com

So I pointed the second domain to

allspecialtybuildings.com/barnbuilderscolorado

So it directs barnbuilderscolorado.com into mysite/barnbuilderscolorado

Is this bad? or can it help with seo or search engine rankings?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Chris

Do the SEO for both domain names separately then redirect one of them to another one.

Thanks for the help. well I am in a highly competitive regional market for my niche. So my hope is to have a better chance to have keywords in a domain and hopefully have a better chance to make high search engine rankings.

So I bought the additional domains that have the keywords that I need, but now I am just lost on whether or not to build a new website for my domains and hope to have a few sites on the first pages of search engines? or ? as this is where I am lost on other options.

Thank you so much

In that case you have wasted your money in even buying them.

Well I am sorry that you feel I have wasted my money? I feel if anything I have prevented my competitors from buying the domains. So in that light I feel I have done good. Also at .99 cents a domain how could I go wrong?

But on the other hand, could you explain why I have no hopes of achieving anything?

You are a moderator and I see you all around the web even the UK sites, so if I may ask for your help, what would you do in my case? I have great domains, but do I point them all at the same site or make new ones?

Thanks so much for being a leader and motivator Chris

I don't recall stating you couldn't acheive anything, just that buying hostnames and hoping they will somehow increase SE traffic is a pointless excercise.

The whole "keyword domain" thing is just an overblown myth.
Only people who are crap at branding and marketing need to worry about catching traffic from domain "guessers".

Buy hostnames to "protect" your brand by all means;
Buy hostnames for "off line" marketing certainly;
Buy keyword hostnames in the hundreds if you want to scavenge for coppers with "Adsense for domains"
but thinking they will have some benefit for Search Engines is not a valid reason.

Just park them, because every site you create will have to be promoted for it to have any search engine "value"

And why domain name should be parked? If it does not have any traffic what is the main purpose of parking then?

They may as well be parked rather than just registered, that way you can use them on flyers, posters and other marketing campaigns, it makes it easier to track how effective (or not) they are.
