hi, just got an email of godaddy about .co domains and just wondering what everyone thinks is going to happen with them because I think there going to get quite bit, and I just had a little search for a few domains and paypal.co nike.co and quite a few other big companies names are still available to pre-order. do you think it will be a waste of time and money tring to pre-order these big names.

thanks, nathaniel

have any other .whatevers gone anywhere besides .com, .org and .net? No, so why would these. Also the law permits trademarked companies that had a trademark before you bought the domain name to buy it from you with out your consent. meaning cheaply. Now, if i thought it was going somewhere short words would be valueable but not company names. like business.co or something.

You are right. That will be time wasting. So do not waste your time with those domain names. I suppose there are a lot of lovely domain names can be pre ordered

Sunrise A and B still have to be completed, so the trademark holders still have their time to register hostnames that pertain to their trademarks. So don't be getting too excited over parting with your $300 just yet.

Yea go buy them as quick as possible, no seriously do you think nike and paypal are going to let you use their trademarked names for your own projects, the answer is probably no, so i would think of some names that are not trademarked to go grab.

Even if they lose this opportunity they will return their names easily

.co should have stayed were it belongs to: in Colombia, for Colombian domain names. .co will not be such a great hit as they are expected to be.

That's what I would think...my friends have operated sites that got shut down because of trademark word puns...let alone owning the trademark'd primary domain
