We need to transfer our domain name from one register to another. Will there be any downtime (the domain name cannot be resolved)?

How to avoid the downtime while transferring domain name?

Thanks.

Hello,

I have transferred domains for many times. There should be no any downtime during the domain transfer. The transfer should be invisible.

Best regards

Copy all content to the new web hosting account, then change nameservers. You will have 0 downtime

If you transfer domain name only and do not transfer your web site at all I suppose you will not have any downtime at all.

Just copy all your files to the new server and setup the DNS then no downtime.

The OP STATED it was a change of REGISTRAR NO a change of hosting!!!

The answer is:

Unless the TTL on your DNS server is less than 60 seconds there will be NO "downtime".

You can't avoid downtime because your domain name will won't work with your hosting until the new DNS is not live.
