hi.. I have a site with a dot IN domain. Don't really have a google rank but I have a alexa ranking of 187K and India ranking of 19K. I am getting good traffic like 800-1000 a day and wanted to maybe redirect it to a dot com domain name. Do you guys think that would be better? Or would that drop my alexa ranking.. Does a 301 hinder anything? any feed back would be great

Nope

It may not pass the real Page Rank fully (there is apparently a small loss) but as for the even more useless Alexa "value" it should not affect anything because the "value" uses the installed toolbar visitors to extrapolate the numbers. So as they will be visiting the redirected pages ....

I would also suggest 301 redirect because it will pass your ranking (even if not fully) and you will won't have problems with duplicate content. (this happens if you park one domain on another)
