Just pay for the hostname, it will be a lot cheaper and you will get a lot less apam.
Also YOU never actually "own" the name,

Agreed. Owning a domain requires it to be in your name otherwise you are just borrowing it or just using it.
I just tried doing the survey and it was kind of too dry and too long. Lost patience and just "x" out of the browser...Mind as well just register the domain and actually "OWN" it. Saves me time and some dignity.

Ok, lets test that out then. If you have a Godaddy account and any domains registered, push a domain you own from your account to my account and lets see who owns it afterward...

I suppose that would be appreciated by everyone here if you try that service and then share your experience. I do not believe that those domain names could be absolutely free.
