If you had to choose, which free domain would you go with? I'm considering starting a new site with a uni.cc site, as I can't afford a .com or even a .info.

Doesn't really matter, it's how you promote it that counts.

Anybody can brand or promote a .com hostname, you simply have to be a little better than that and brand the whole URI.

If you all those domain names for free I suppose one day you will be able simple lose them. Do you think that is good idea at all? I'm not sure it is. Because one day you can lose all domain names you have

Care to explain why? At least uni.cc doesn't have a WHOIS lookup on theirs.

You can easily lose your TLD as fast as you could lose a free domain.

co.cc

if you need it for commercial purpose, better not use them though..
it is only free for the first year..if you monetize it..you need to pay 3$/year

Well I have tried so many times the uni.cc is not opening but I already have my website on co.cc and the response is so nice.

As I have used the back services of yola and for account registration I have used the co.cc.

So I have this as a personal.

Any free domain name is easy to get and easy to lose one. So I suppose you haven't planned something really serious there for that?
