I just went through some old files and it looks like I had a couple of domains that have been sitting for a long, long time. The one that caught my attention at first and seems like it could be the most fun to develop is
www.dumberthan----.com with the ---- replaced with the obvious correct word. It been a blank slate for a long time so it's had no traffic.

Idea one was to just create a go to site with hand selected vids and pics of people at the pinicle of there inteligence. Can the world have to many of these? I'd think a decent site gets a lot of personal references if they have good filtered content...

The other idea would be to just bid it out.... The bummer is it's been sitting for a number of years and I'd at least like to try and recoup some of that money spent. The downside is it's had no traffic with the upside being it's correctly and fully spelled domain name that in my opinion would be easy to remember.

Anyone else have any ideas that might be fun or maybe I should just get rid of it and count my losses?

Just consider;

How are you going to be able to promote such a name legitimately?

That was a concern of mine. Since the name does contain a curse word I wasn't sure it would be worth pursuing. The sites I found that allow profanities in their links that I have seen tend to be sketchy...unless the target site is legitimate. My only hopes would be Google searches, blog links and word of mouth hence e-mail for now as I'd like to stay as far away from the dark realm as possible.

I did own www kissmy---.com for a bit and finally got rid of that. The gall that got it turned it into a mini business. I'm almost thinking of following that model. I haven't looked in a few years but last I checked they were doing good as selling merchandise with that theme... So there are sites out there with similar names that are legit, funny and have a slightly profane name.

I suppose of course that would be good idea to keep such domain name with you, but put that for sale at the same time. Then keep your domain name until you get the most interesting offer.
