the domain im trying to register is parked by godaddy.com

i will buy the domain from through them but im not sure what i will be getting ?

when you own a domain name what do you get username and password ?

i dont want godaddy to host my site just want to buy the domain name from them


i tried to find beginner guide over the net but no result

You will be getting a hostname at an inflated price!

Only to a DNS control panel.

I'd recommend you not to put all the eggs in one basket - register domains and buy hosting separately.
Contact them and see what they will answer you.

It's simple
You buy the domain from godaddy ..and then host it where you want !
The only thing you have to do is to set the NS - those from the hosting company you choose,on the godaddy account.

If the domain you desire is on a Godaddy parked page. It means someone else has registered the domain but hasn't created a web site. If you really desire that domain you might be able to contact the owner from the whois information and make them an offer. Another option is to come up with a variation to your preferred name. You might consider adding a suffix or prefix to your desired name. The last option would be use a different gTLD or ccTLD.
