Hi everyone!
May I ask for your help? I have experience with registering my domain together with the hosting but don't have
an experience yet with regards to registering to a third party.
I already have a domain registered at GoDaddy but it's only 4 months old and I paid $14+ with a coupon for a .com with private registration.
I know that people have been suggesting Godaddy, Namecheap, Name, Enom, etc.
But what registrar is good for long term and important domains with private registration? Currently, I need to register 6 domains. 2 .com, 2 .org and 2 .net.
My worry about GoDaddy even with the coupons, is that what will happen to my domain name when renewal comes?
Is it true that GoDaddy buys your domain name or sells it to others right away because from the hosting that I had my domain registered to 2 years ago, they did hold my domain name but eventually released it after their grace period of "30 or 120 days"? I don't remember.
I was thinking of registering with Godaddy to take advantage of the free Private Registration for new domain names but I cannot find anything online that says that Private Registration will still be free during renewals as long as you register 5 domains or more.
So I'm looking for a domain registrar that is affordable, preferably has private registration that's affordable or free for 5 domains or more, is stable and reliable for important domains especially personal ones, no dns issues, what else?
I'm leaning towards namecheap but I really haven't read much experiences about them regarding my needs. Most of the reviews and comments online are by domainers so they can afford to just transfer domains to whichever registrar has the best offer and don't really need Private Registration.
Thank you and I hope coupons will work on those you will suggest. I know that domain prices today are chunk change compared to before, but I don't live in the US and with the exchange rates, I could survive for 2 weeks on 1 domain name registration with Privacy.
Thanks and Happy Holidays! Cheers!
