Which is more lucrative?

Hi,

Timing is the key to all sales. Both will bring a good amount of dollars. You will also need to pick the right place to sell your site or domain also you need to promote the fact that they are up for sale.

I have bought both in the past. I personally like site over domains. Don't make quick cheep sites and expect to get big money for it unless you find a couple of newbie bidding with more money then brains. LOL

When I bid I look at things for the long haul. Will this still be a good site in 5 years from now? Same with a domain name.

Is the niche strong, is it an EMD and so on.

Personally I think selling website would be more lucrative. But it requires a lot of effort, time and money to make one good site.

Usually it's more profitable to sell a developed website then just a domain but it's hard to reach the buyers expectations.. it all depends on the market.. if you can find somebody who is willing to pay for it then selling the website is your best option

I suppose that it will be more productive to sell both domains and web sites.

Yea i know what you mean...but one's a tedious, systematic money costing process and one isn't as much (the domain of course )

I mean with selling the websites there's appraisers involved, starting appraisals at $500 and what have you...idk...not to mention as someone has already stated...building the site takes effort...im no Mark Zuckerberg you know...

For me it's selling websites. I never had success selling domains though the names were pretty catchy and attractive.

In my opinion it is more lucrative to sell websites. And it all depends upon the customer's satisfaction to it. It would be based on how good is your website is so make good.

I suppose that selling domains will be easier business than selling web sites.

I used to sell websites which is very lucrative but ALOT of work and you need to spend money to make it. But now I prefer to keep them and I've moved to selling domains instead. It's harder but its cheaper and quicker. Plus you can make huge profits if you land upon a gem of a domain.

Actually you can do what is easier for you. As I told selling web sites will drive more profit to you in any case.

Thats not really true. You can make a fortune selling domains, but you usually need more startup money and experience. Selling websites takes a lot longer and you have to invest more usually.

The web site it self could be worth more depending on what the domain is. The content of the web site is the meat which could cost a lot more than a domain that isn't worth much.

Together though, it could be a high cost profit.
