As many of you may have already heard, GD got some bad press recently related to his hunting trips: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/...20049386.shtml

I got an email from my registrar, namesilo.com, this morning advertising transfer coupon codes for people interested in leaving GD as a result. Thought maybe some of you might be interested:

Codes:
removed: $4 off any domain transfer or registration
removed: 25% off any transfer order over $100

I think they are good for a week or so.

Cheers!

Interesting. I saw this earlier but didn't read anything into it. Media is really good at presenting enticing headlines that create their own story. From what I just read, it's not as bad as the headlines have made it seem. My domain and hosting is with GD and I don't plan to change it. Thanks for the attempt to post the codes though, even though they were removed.

Just reading the comments on the video I am now convinced that the world is full of idiots with nothing better to do.

The ones shouting about it being "cruel" and pointless, are probably sitting in their nice house with a freezer full of food and beer in the fridge.

With absolutely no idea at all of what it is like to exist in the way the people of Zimbabwe (and many other African countries) do.

Would they rather another 50 people die (Men, Women and Children) because their crops were destroyed?

and as for the moron that left this comment

It does show some of the population don't actually deserve to be part of the human species.

I generally don't advocate a moral or ethical stance on what people do in their private lives - but I find this somewhat irresponsible for a CEO of a major company. Anyways - I am just passing along the info on the coupon codes. It works out to $4.39 for a .com with private whois included so I thought it might be of interest.

Just think he can now take his American Choppers Motorcycle and sell it to pay for the birth of a new Elephant he needs to replace.

Chris, I gotta disagree. GoDaddy has always represented itself as a sexist, politically incorrect organization uninterested in appeasing the masses. An elephant hunt only helps strengthen that persona. Personally, I don't give a darn if some Zimbabweans have an elephant cookout. It's not immoral at all in my opinion. Bob Parsons flaunting his elephant tusk like a big swinging d***, on the other hand, is a little annoying, and insincere. Bob spends his extra dollars on his Nascar team, offshore racing boats, and high-priced bimbos in his ads... do you really believe he gives a darn about some starving Zimbabweans? Call a spade a spade. Bob is what I imagine that annoying mid-life-crisis a-hole in a Corvette would be if taken to the extreme. Sadly, all the money in the world won't compensate for some things.

Of course this publicity is never good for them but what percent of the population really cares enough? I didn't avoid GoDaddy for their CEO's ethics but rather their business ethics. Their service is downright poor.
