Question about Godaddy domain auctions

There's a domain I would like to purchase from Godaddy auctions, but I've never used the service before. I registered on the auctions site, but am not sure how the bidding works. If the domain is currently at say, $20, do I enter the minimum bid amount or my highest bid amount? In other words, is it like Ebay where you enter the maximum amount you want to bid and Ebay automatically keeps raising your bid to keep you in the lead?

Thanks!

You bid an amount and your are "winning" until you are outbid.

What I was trying ask is if the domain price is at $20, should I bid $25 or the absolute maximum I would be willing to pay for it?

I.E. The domain is at $20

Case 1:
I bid $25, nobody else bids, I win for $25.

Case 2:
I bid the most I'd be willing to pay, say $80, and nobody else bids.
Do I end up paying $25, or $80?

You would pay whatever your bid was. There is no "auto-bidding" system.

This is why I'm confused. I read conflicting things on different sites. According to: https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpAuctionInfo.aspx?q=1

Quote:
How does bidding work? Enter the maximum bid you are willing to place on a domain name. Our Proxy Bidding Service automatically raises your bid by $5 anytime you're outbid by someone else -- up to your maximum bid amount.
