Which is Better for Search Engines?

I'm at a point where I'm stuck. I can't decide if I want to use my name as my domain for my website, or find something like the most common searched words on google to form a domain.

The website is going to be personal and business. Will contain a blog, videos, ebooks, forums, articles, covering the internet etc.

Which is the better solution? Or does it even matter?

It does matter, I found a couple of articles for you to read.

SEO Tutorial – Domain Name Optimization

Hope the links can help you.....

My husband uses his Native American name for his business and he was firm on that one many years ago. The domain name has nothing to do with the his business, perhaps the links can help you decide what is best for you.

Use your BUSINESS NAME not some half-baked idea about "keywords"

Agreed! The domain will be easier to find from a search than being like those thousands of websites with several keywords in the domain that anyone can purchase in random order (eg. ABC.com, CBA.com, BCA.com - letter "A", "B" & "C" being substituted for a keyword )

Using popular keywords as your business name makes it generic which will end up hurting your potential in the long run. You need to use your own name and establish yourself - that is how you build a brand.
