About the domain registration (ie microsoft.com)
This isn't true at all. Has been mentioned quiet enough, there is more than enough literature about it out there.
But I'd like to through out another point of view. It doesn't really matter if you are the legal owner of a domain. I think we can all agree, that the attorneys of whatever company are smart enough to come up with something, if they are interested in a spacifc way.
Even if they are not, they will just sue you anyway. They've got the money to pay for everything, but I don't know about a private man.
The power is where the money is - has been, is and will be that way, yesterday, now, tomorrow
