Hello All -

I thought maybe we could brainstorm a bit about both the theory pricing domain names, and the reality... of what they actually sell for.

There's a poll with this thread to report the dollar range at which some of our domains have sold.

WHERE TO SELL THEM: I have listed domains on SEDO.com. There is also Afternic.com, and now GoDaddy.com offers reseller services. Let's compare results.

HOW TO SELL THEM:
  • Auction, or just list them on some boards?
  • Include other services/value added?
HOW TO VALUE THEM:
  • How short is the name
  • How desireable is the name
  • How unique is the name
  • OTHER: ____________________
Ok... looking forward to your discussion.
Scott

I’m using Sedo too.
I think that a good domain name must be short (max two words) and it must contain a keyword related to the content of your website. This two conditions are very important for me.
Another thing is that it has to be a .com or a .net domain, because I have seen that it’s the only way to obtain type in traffic. It’s very difficult that someone could try to type in his browser a .biz or .org domain name.
