Does the domain names have something to do with search engines rankings?

Thanx in advance.

I think it probably has a minor affect, but so minor that it's not worth choosing a domain name based on a search engine. I'd always go for the one you think will work better for people.

If you want to get keywords into your url you can add them by naming your folders and files with them provided you don't overdue it.

I don't think the .in will get less rank. I don't think search engines care that much what your tld is as far as where you rank and with it being harder and harder to find domain names with .com and .net, etc we're all going to have to get more creative with domains and tlds.

I like your domain name. It's nice and short and all someone would really need to know is where to place the dot. I actually think one of the reasons del.icio.us got so popular was just the creative use of the domain.

The domain extension doesn't affect the search engine rankings of a domain. Its how you optimize your site and the keywords you select will determine your site's search engine rankings.

The domain name has nothing to do with search engine rankings, you can get better rankings by properly optimizing your site

They are correct. It is all about link popularity, etc.

The only effect on search engines that I can even think of in this instance would be if people don't put in the right extention if they are searching for your site: ie they put in .com instead of .in. But in all honesty, that is NOT a function of the search engine(s).
