I have bought a domain from registerfly for a friend who hosts his sites in his own unix server using a DSL connection, and he gives me primary and secondary IPs. However, registerfly does not accept IPs, only fully qualified DNS. Is there a way to solve this?

I think you can do that if you register at godaddy.

You need to register the nameserver


Click "Name Servers" in the right panel .

Then click register new nameserver ..

you will get the feilds ... if you face any problem submit a ticket they will register for you for free ... Good Luck
