Hi,
The first thing you should do is see if any of your domains are registered in other extensions. This
would mean there is interest in the name.
If you find any, check if the domain is active. If yes, check if it's a real site or if it's a Parked
domain. The idea is to see if the domain name is being used by end users and not domainers.
For example, is TheCappersEdge registered in .Net, .Org. .Info and so on.
You can easily check this at:
http://www.domaintools.com/bulk-check/
Type in all your domains at once and you'll see the results.
For example, I typed in:
CappersEdge
TheCappersEdge
No other extensions are registered for either version.
Note: CappersEdge.com expired in October and was picked up by a domain holding company.
If you saw that TheCappersEdge.net was registered and was a live site you could have offered it
to them.
That no other extensions are registered would normally suggest this domain is not
very sellable.
Except...
You can use Google to see if and how the term The Cappers Edge is being used.
You can type in: The Cappers Edge , "The Cappers Edge" , TheCappersEdge as the results come up differently.
The good news is...
If you type The Cappers Edge into Google you'll see that the term "cappers" refers to
Sports Handicapping and that there are a number of forums dedicated to that subject.
Now you might have a good chance to sell it. Visit the forums and see if there is a section
that allows advertising or offers to be made. Then join the forum and offer the domain.
You can also go to Ezine Directories and find ezines that are related to Sports Handicapping ,
subscribe to the ezine(s) and see if any offer free classifieds.
You can also list and sell domains for free at Sedo.com, TDNAM.com, Plesmo.com.
You only pay a commission if the domain sells. You can list at all of them.
If you choose to list at Sedo you should also Park your domain there. This is because they charge a 10% commission with a $50 minimum. But if you Park your domains there, the $50 minimum is waived and it's a straight 10%. Thus if you sell a domain for $100 you will only "lose" $10
and not $50.
Hope this helps you.
