Anyone else here interested in domain hacks? I think they're pretty cool because, depending on what country you get a TLD in, sometimes they can be very cheap.

Mine, for example, is http://alka.li (alkali); the Lichtenstein TLD is owned by the Swiss service http://switch.ch (which, in and of itself SHOULD be http://swit.ch, but to each their own I suppose...).

A cool utility for finding hacks is at http://www.xona.com/domainhacks. It's what I used to find mine.

That is a neat little tool. I will stick with more traditional domains, but I had fun playing with it.

the value of domain hacks is questionable...there was some excitement about it sometime ago. the most famous is del.icio.us and after that very quiet.
