However, domain-4free.com only provides you free domain if you have some unique visitors to your site daily and they place a top frame on your page.
However, you should give them a try.
and well of course afterwards I visited another forum and found a better deal
no forced ads...just a post-for-domain

what do you mean it's not possible? They are giving people domains to use for free (not giving them the domain though) i believe they keep ownership of the domain and have it redirected to your website for you and place their ads on the site as they see fit...
as for the forum posting to get a domain i'm not sure how exactly that one works
This often appears to be a really good deal. Just make sure you are really getting what you think you are getting. You might think you are getting www.freedomain.xxx
when you are really getting www.webcompany.xxx/myfreesubdomain/index.html.
Usually free domains have annoying advertising attached. This may or may not be the case but you still want to be very careful to get what you really want.

You usually find some strings attached to any free domain name offer. While there are some great forums who do offer their members a way to gain domain names for free the hitch is you have to be active for so long and have so many posts before you receive the domain name. Now this is not bad in itself, but sometimes just getting to that point can be quite a long venture. Even when a host offers a free domain name you have to make sure to read their TOS to see what the stipulations are if any and if you truely own the domain or they do. So it is best to make sure you do your homework before buying into any such offer.
Good Luck!
