The prices do seem extreme but theyre not. Theyre very fair estimates,
Exact prices can be calculated with a bit more work.
You may have heard the stories from the days when the internet was new about the rags to riches scheme, people could buy a domain name for a few pounds or dollars and after they had finished sell them on for 100,000's of £/$ depending to whom.
This is rare now and you will hardly ever see a URL exceed $10,000 unless of course you are looking at something like google.co.uk which is approximately worth in excess of $4,377,483.00 or lycos.com another example of worth at around the $702,700.00. Not nearly as much as google but still alot ... and these are sites that grow constantly.
ALL THE ABOVE ARE ESTIMATES - Proper evaluations take upto 5 days. If you require more information then contact me. I will let you know what I can do.
We work with looking at hits etc (amongst other tools) ie:
You get points based on hits - 1 Hits via url - meaning you have given it out, word of mouth etc.
- 2 Search engine hits, Msn, Google, AltaVista, Yahoo etc. All this information is recorded and used to determine a domain name or full domain (inc url's) worth.
- You also get points based on URL/Domain name length.
DotHQ.com is given an approximate value of $ 6000 based on these sorts of figures and TheDotHQ.com is around the $50 mark, given it has had no hits thru any of the major serch engines. It gets the high rate of $50 for being closely "related" to DotHQ.com.
