I want to buy a domain name, I've searched the internet and found there are much difference in domain prices between registrars .com in Go daddy is about 9$/y, powweb is $15/y while yahoo offers $1.99/1st year.

1-Why is there so much difference in price between registrars?
2- Which registrar do you recommend?
3- I want to buy a domain and host my site in one of the free hosting companies (like yahoo and awardspace) fow the time being, is that possible?

Thank you for your help..I really need it.

Godaddy has a great user interface and everytime i've phoned their tech support i've always had my problem corrected. So i would recommend GoDaddy. Do a search around and you can find godaddy coupons to save you a few dollars.

Not sure on this but i believe they also offer free hosting. Can't be sure though.

>The price difference depends on companies and their other policies as some have hidden costs and some charge at different amounts when you renew the domain name so you’ll always find different price structure with various companies.
>Go daddy is good as a registrar but if you are not locked in a budget then you can also go with powweb as both have good reviews both their services.
>Of course it is possible to host your site on free hosting service till the time you want to and then later when you feel like you can change it according to your requirements.

I am a godaddy man... They have a great deal that if you "buy" a domain name and sign up for a hosting package.. then you get the domain name for $1.99 for the first year.

So you can buy a domain name and 2 months economy hosting for just over $10

I would suggest GoDaddy as well 1and1 is a little bit cheaper, but the support at GD is much better, if you ever need it.

Hmmmm......hostgator is good, also most hosts these days off a FREE domain name with a host plan. I've listed a few on my website that I have reviewed - all seem to be quite reputable. Some more than others. Do the research and you'll do great! Good luck!!

Yes, you can have the domain redirected to a free hosting account.
