I was typing in a few website addresses and although they say they are not available they just link straight to like tucows website etc, how do I find out if they are for sale? because one of them that links to tucows says it is owned by tucows and no one else and also says :


Domain status: clientTransferProhibited
clientUpdateProhibited

They were probably registered by a customer of tucows. Said customer diddnt pay their bill, so tucows still owns it for an indefinate period of time. See if you can bid on it at tucows.com.

If they are not avilable then if you really want them you might want to get a back order. But if they continue to renew the domain name automatically you are not going to get it till someone finally let's it drop.
