I'm having problems with Registerfly after being with them years. I've never liked this company but have always been intimidated with switching from them (aka I don't know how to transfer domains to another registrar)...

But now apparently there is this situation where they are being terminated as registrar or something, and they are transfering domains to godaddy.

However my main concern right now is that I can't update, delete, or even create name servers with their name server system.

And my domains registered with them appear as unlocked and their lock feature doesn't do anything when I set the domains to locked. Their support never answers.

What's going on with them? What can happen when a domain is "unlocked"?

RegisterFly's registration with ICANN was canceled. There's a public notice out there somewhere, but you didn't really stand a chance of getting your domains from RegisterFly. As a protection to you, ICANN transferred the registrar. I don't know if they all went to GoDaddy, but the 1 domain I had did. GoDaddy will send you a notice that you need to register for an account and to manage the NS, you'll need to contact them.

I registered all the domains on my registerfly account prior to January 2006. I'm so lost.

Actually, you're a victim, along with a lot of other domain owners. The good news if you're going with GoDaddy is that they're a great company.

Best wishes!

Hm. I have an account with GoDaddy and some domains. I'd like to transfer all my domains to GoDaddy but am unsure how because RegisterFly are not very responsive on their help desk tickets. Do you know how I'd go about doing this?

Well, they got back to me on the support tickets with my various questions and requests about the domain names. Every single one was answered with:

However, I registered the domain with them and I don't have the correct details to login to enom or request help.

I think they've screwed me.

You should work with enom to get those domains back under your control. After that you can transfer them all to one registrar if that's what you want, but you may have some additional fees to pay.
