I was on whois.sc just randomly checkin sites and i checked one of my old friends sites

The renewal date is well over 30 days old (nearly 60 in a couple of days) and under the dates it says

Registration status:
Renewal required.
*** This registration has been SUSPENDED. ***

The site is still up and running and the domain still works - how can this be if the registration is suspended.

Will the website cease to exist soon or will it still remain. i have not kept in touch with them for ages so i cant find out

He/she must have paid in advance for the hosting.

Domains are not deleted and resold until about 75 days after the expiration date. There are a couple of grace periods with increasing redemption fees. The fact that the namesever function is still working surprises me. Never seen that before.

Once the domain is deleted the files for the site will sit on the server until the hosting company has no longer been paid and then they will be deleted.

That's a new one to me, too. Usually when a domain is suspended, it doesn't resolve to any server.

Your ISP may be caching info, or it may be a domain function. What's the domain?
