Is this a case of sell it before getting a dispute filed and the domain taken off you by ICANN??

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds
Thought for today:- Is SEO the only industry where all the cowboys are Indians?

Probably. It was stupid to buy such a domain in the first place but I'm sure some gullible wannabe will purchase this domain, then realise afterwards that they could be up for a lawsuit
See this is the thing that annoys me. Why should whoever buys that domain name be held to ransom by microsoft?
They do not have any right whatsoever, to claim that any domain that contains the word 'miscrosoft', should not be purchased. If they wanted the domain, they should have bought it!
They are not held to ransom by anyone, and it's not a matter of Microsoft wanting the hostname.
MS are simply protecting their registered trademark as they have every right to do.
Failure to take action to protect it in one small instance could result in them loosing the right to protect it in the future.

Again, I agree. If you were running a multibillion pound organisation and some random guy buys a domain name very similar to your company name, and possibly end up deceiving customers, you'd want to protect your property and your customers
