Domain Names for Sale

OK, this might sound like a strange request, but I'm looking to borrow a domain name for a couple of days.

Basically, I have just found out that MyDomain.com domains are banned in China, so am trying to find a better way to redirect my domain properly. As I've got my own dedicated IP I was planning to use mod_rewrite to redirect the requests to the correct folder on my host, but I don't really want to test this out with an active domain in case it doesn't work.

Basically what I'm looking for is someone who has a domain they're not using at the moment who might be willing to point it to my IP for a few days so that I can test the system.

I know its asking a lot, but I'm sure at least one of you has a domain they're not using

i have a domain, at present it is hctc6.co.uk
it IS active at present, but i can change it and set it up for you tonite if you'd like. may need some correspondance on redirection etc. as i've not done that before.

ive can help you out also although it ususally takes a day or so to transfer to the new host

the domain is cantgetsleep.com

it expires in a few weeks anyway

let me know if you want it and if so what primary and secondry server addresses are

Thanks to both of you for offering the domains. I think I'll use fonz's domain as its currently inactive, but thanks anyway Dave.

Nameservers are:
dns1.hrnoc.net 66.162.74.8
dns2.hrnoc.net 66.162.75.8

Should be fine if it takes a few days, I'm off on holiday for a couple of days so hopefully it will be working when I return. After that I'll only be using it for a couple of days anyway, then you can have it back

anytime dave, you've sorted out 3, probably 4 of my problems already today, least i can do is offer to help. sorry i couldn't be of more assistance. meh, i woudln't know how to set up the DNS anyways, so best for you to stick with froz.

whats the problem with mydomain.com and china? i'm intrigued...is it all .com's or just ones registered with mydomain.com? if so, doesn't that mean they have to perform a whois before they retrieve any info from the domain? thats serious download slowing stuff, a whois for every request!?!?

As to the MyDomain thing I've only just heard about it. conkermaniac just told me that free-webhosting.info was blocked from China and was asking if I was using mydomain.com. Thats how I found out, and is really all I know about it.

Maybe conker can give some more details on the situation here....
