Is there anywhere you can find out when a domain is gonna expire? preferably .co.uk domain's

Do a whois lookup. I think it shows the date it was registered or am I wrong? But there still is a chance the owner might renew it..

Well, i dont think it will be renewed, ive been paying attention to it or the last 2-3 weeks and its not been online in that time, so hopefully it wont be

I've tried a few whois search's but none (that ive tried) show the expire date.

Registered on 02-Dec-1996.

Go to The Internic-WHOIS.com Free Name Lookup and try there. It will tell you if the name is taken. If it is, then there's an option to see the information. You do have to enter your name and email address to see the information.

Near the bottom of the information are usually three record dates, including the expiration date. I just checked several there and it showed the dates.

If you use another service and it only tells the registration date, then you can figure that it will run out in some year interval (that will give you the best guess if it's not shown).

Hmm, so then it's gonna expire in december, just dont know the year!

It says that it was registerd on 02-Dec-1996. does this mean it was 1st registerd then, or could it of been renewed since then, if not, its probly been registerd for 10 years

I would say that it will run out on 2nd December this year.

IIRC .co.uk names cannot be registered for multiple years like .com can. If this is the case, the domain will have been registered for the initial 2 years (ending 2 Dec 1998) and then yearly after that..... so will run out this year (and may be renewed).

Of course you need to remember that many domains without sites on them are kept just for e-mail, so it may still be renewed.

lol, Thats what i was planning on using it for

well ive found a similar domain so i mite just register that and wait and see about the other,
