Personally I woudn't buy a .net or .org. People always try the .com version of a name first. The best example I can think of is 'Hypermart'. When I first heard of them I remembered the name but tried the .com and ended up at some toher site (they've bought it now, though).
Although it wasn't a problem in that case, as the other site was completely different, if you were doing something generic (like for example webmastertips.net), the .com site is likely to have similar content, so you lose a visitor.
