PJ, if you are looking for domains, do a search on www.deleteddomains.com

you can find a lot of latest quality deleted domains there.

Have you tried the name generator at:
http://www.nameboy.com
It's excellent for creating domains. You just put in some keywords and it generates a few hundred domains and will tell you which are available. Although most of the ones generated are completely useless for most sites(!) you will probably find one or two 'gems'. It's certainly worked for me.
