Domain Names for Sale

Hi,
My name is Chris i'm brand new here. I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on something. Right now I have the option to buy the domain name zootycoon2.com for $1000 US. The first zoo tycoon game was fairly successful as well with it's expansion packs. Their are rumours going around that zoo tyccon 2, which is published by Microsoft will be coming out in march of this year. what I was wondering is if you think I should buy it? do you think microsoft would offer me money for it? how much do you think the name is worth?

Personally I wouldn't recommend it. This would probably violate trademark law (if not specifically on Zoo Tycoon 2, then on Zoo Tycoon). It would be a risk buying it as at any time Microsoft could take the domain from you under the domain dispute resolution policy, due to the fact that it was registered with intent to earn money from Microsoft's trademark.

could they still take it if i were to build a fan site with the domain name?

as well.....do you think if I were to buy it now I could sell it for more money hopefully within the next few days?

I agree with David.

It is not worth this risk IMO and I don't think you will make your money back.

I the domain was not taken, sure you could buy it and see what happens. But for $1000 or even $500, no way I chance it.
