Hi,

Does anybody have any ideas how to gather initial content for a dating site in the US?

I have several options and several questions:

1) to pay people for publishing their ad/profile at my site (for example 10$ per profile/ad)?
Where to find people who are interested in this?

2) to buy profiles
How to check that the profiles are real

3) to falsify profiles
I don’t like this. Does anybody do it?

Are there other options?

Thank you

1) You could always follow the Plenty of Fish model. This guy's making like six digits a month from his apartment.

As far as finding people who are interested, the general dating sites are pretty well saturated. I'd go niche market. Maybe the gay community, maybe fetish dating, pick a niche and go with it.

2) and 3) You really can't. Anyone can tell the truth, and anyone can lie. That's not really your responsibility, and a good disclaimer will cover you off in that regard.

The bigger question is: are you ready to run this kind of a site? You sound like you haven't done a lot of homework, and you're asking questions that you could easily find the answers to with a little bit of digging.

Hi

I think adam is right, there are so many dating sites out there, the market is saturated, if you could find a niche then you might be able to get somwhere, otherwise its going to be really hard and cost you a lot of money !

I have a dating site myself, and its very competative !

1) Many dating sites run affilate programs from their sites, with webmasters getting between $1 - $5 depending on who signs up, so you would have to compete with these and is a good idea, ive never tryed it and it sounds pricey !

2) There are many sites that will sell u sign ups, but they are usually a waste of money, not sure if thats the service you meant

3) A lot of sites do this, to draw people in, its not a good thing to do as it wont get people coming back to ur site over and over and thats what you want !
