Hello mates,

I am in need of advice regarding software for ecommerce. I am looking for a storefront or method of showing what I have for sale and giving people the option to reserve it for a % total cost or buy it for a 100% payment.

The items I am selling are unique items (meaning I do not have multiple numbers of the same items. My items are pets. Here is someone selling different items from mine but it gives you an example of what I need:
http://www.constrictors.com/Available/showcat.php?cat=31
http://www.constrictors.com/Available/showproduct.php?product=322&sort=2&cat=31&page=1 I like the application he is using, but 2 things are missing that I need:
1. Ability to reserve instead of fully buy (since most people will pick up their pet and only complete the payment upon pickup).

and

2. Ability show multiple langaguges (though this is a minor point).
Do you all know a software that you would recommend for this? Or do you know how to edit photopost classifieds to enable me to do this?

Pretty much any shopping cart system that has stock control (inventry control for US folks) will handle this. You limit the stock of each item to 1, then when the item is purchased have the cart hide it from view. If sold simply delete the record from your catalogue.

For reserving I'd adapt an offline payment method to do this, something that doesn't require the user to pay immediately. Once you receive the order you can follow up by email/phone to arrange payment.

I would like immediate payment for reservations. I am thinking paypal woudl be useful. My items typically cost $500 - $5000 so 20% via paypal would be desired to commit the product and take it offline for others to purchase.

Any shopping carts that allow for deposits and reservations?
