Offline Credit Card Processing

I have a client who runs a magazine. They want people to be able to subscribe online but they want to process the credit card payments manually through their Quickbooks system rather than going through a payment processor.

What is the easiest way for me to set this up?

Thanks,
Neil Brown

Hi,

I think there are only a few PCI compliant solutions available to you. One is e-Path. They will capture the credit card details safely for your client to then process into their Quickbooks program manually.

Good luck

You might just need a merchant account for this, I know some third party services allow collecting info over the phone, but to do any other kind of card not present transaction other than normal online transaction processing would probably need your own merchant account.

You should call your bank and ask for a merchant account. They should offer service of processing credit cards over the phone.

Your customers could enter their credit cards information in your store however don't forget about SSL certificate in this case! Otherwise you may repel customers from making orders.

I'd love to see a consumer poll on ssl certificates. I know there important, but how many people really do look for them, or even understand what they are? Probably not a good poll question for a website like this since we work in the online market though.
