I am looking at finding different ways of tracking users of my site clicking affiliate links or banners and recording sales. Is there any programs preferably free that do this and can they be automated?

I came across a write up about a french site that uses email to track sales, is this a good system?

Take a look at http://jam.jrox.com It's free until you get 50 affiliates. A very nice affiliate system.
