I mean they can at any time fire a dispute at PayPal and get a full refund.

Is there any policy that addresses the maximum of time after payment that the fund can by no means be refunded in any way thus secure in my account?

Fairly sure it is 45 days after the payment.

Thanks! It's my first time to get payments through paypal, and what they all say is paypal is becoming more and more unsafe in terms of refunding for merchants. I'm starting to get a little discouraged. =)

Sometimes people get their account hacked. They receive an email asking them to update their information, they think it is a legitimate email, they follow a fake link, they login and give their information to a fraudster.

The fraudster buy stuff on your site and you get screwed. It seems that in this case, they are going to refund the account owner who got his account hacked even after 45 days and take the money from your account.

Make sure you verify every order before you send anything to limit your risk.
If you have a doubt, give a phone call to the customer who made the order. Fraudster usually never give a phone number where we can contact them.

A bit off topic, but a little known fact about paypal from a buyer's perspective is if the seller withdraws the money to their bank account, then you file a paypal claim and win, you could still end up not getting anything. If there is no money in the paypal account paypal will say you won the claim and they'll do everything they can to retrieve your funds but you basically never get anything.

George brings up a good point from a buyers perspective. Likewise, you could move the funds to your bank account like George said (only probably is you'd probably end up with a negative paypal balance and wouldn't be able to use it)

Hum, They can probably withdraw the money and leave your account with a negative balance and the next time you get a payment through Paypal, your account will have some money available and they could withdraw the money at that time.

I realize your speaking specifically about Paypal, but the most common number I see from merchants is 60 days to dispute a charge.

It takes ten working days to transfer money into an account if any one is going to put a dispute in it would be within this period. I have had many peps downloading files from me and then saying they never received them. I provide Paypal with my states and the sod them off.
Its all about trust offer a good service and Paypal will back you.
