Whats better to sell PSD templates or Css templates? on my new site I have started to sell templates I have two options for people to buy a PSD version and a Css version as its only new I have had no sales yet but which would be more inclined to sell I am charging €10 for the psd and €20 for the css version with the same time it would take me to code a css version I could have 3 psd templates done. If I was only to offer the psd template version would they sell or would a css version sell better?

My personal opinion is choose CSS.

Just offer both versions. At some point, you might get tired of creating PSD templates, so then you can work on transforming your existing PSD templates into CSS. I find that I need at least some amount of variety when I work. For PSDs without a CSS equivalent yet, you could just add a request button for customers who want it turned into into CSS.

Also, it depends on who your customers are. If you are targeting developers, they might like your PSD templates. They save time on the design by not having to do it and they have a better control on the integration.

Now if you are targeting end users, they will probably prefer the CSS template. Most end users won't have the skills or software to use the PSD ones.

As a web professional, making websites for customers, when I was buying templates, I was always buying them PSD.

I also agree that it depends on who you are selling them to - as Araunah said, web professionals will probably prefer .psd because they can code the templates into CSS versions themselves, while end users who want something immediate that they can place on the web, hence a CSS template.
