Does anyone know if there is a way to incorporate a coupon into paypal's merchant system? I'm not talking about the gift certificate feature, but the kind where you enter a coupon code and it gives you a discount.

I dont think paypal has this syetem themselves.

but whatyou need is your own billing management system which does this and when it redirects to paypal it has the discount automatically added.

You need to use Quickbooks and a program like AaaTeX Shopping Cart Integrator which will link your cart directly to Quickbooks for fast, easy and accurate transaction importing. It is Very Flexible and it supports discount coupons among many other things.

You can probably get one for free... so dont shell out money unless its really needed for the purpose.

dansgalaxy is right, you need your own billing management system but depending on what you are selling you might just need a shopping cart instead. The paypal shopping cart is very limited.

There are tons and tons of shopping carts. I personally recommend Zencart, I have been working with it for a while and it works great. It might take a little time to setup but once it's done, it works like a charm.
