I have a php category manager and its a cool script that is powering my multimedia/discussion category site. Yet i would like my site to spread its word but its being very difficult since i dont know many places to advertise.
Should i distribute the script free? Yet if i do that people will use a good script for themselves and probably get rid of copyright line and maybe even getting rich with my script and i get nada

Selling the script is not an option either since 1. nobody buys anything online if they can find similar products free 2. site barely has traffic and the range of clients would be really low so probably wouldnt find anybody interested.

A dilemma o_o

if it's something you TRULY think that nobody will pay for, then make it an open source script, and leave it available for the public. Sure, some will remove the copyright info, but some won't, and thats how the word will spread

But I really think your wrong about the "people not paying" part. You'd be surprised. I mean, I get payed for drawing something up in photoshop. Common anyone can do that! If its a good script, you'll find clients

Are we talking about my scribbling in photoshop? lol. Well maybe I make it sound a bit easier than it actually is : P.

But, if ti's a good script, people will pay ... The website is full of people just itching to throw their money at things.

You did make the script, correct?
