Have any of you [in the UK] who work for themselves registered as self employed?

I registered about a year ago with HM Revenue & Customs, and Im thinking Im supposed to have a registration number so I can prove that Im not just attempting tax evasion?

I dont believe I was informed about it, and I cant see it on any letters Ive had off them.

Am I right in thinking that I should have one? Or do you only get one when you've registered as a LTD company?

I'm registered as a sole trader

And yes registration numbers are for limited companies
